How To Lower Your Golfing Scores Quickly

Reducing your golf scores can at times seem like a daunting task. The key is to understand how to lower your scores without having to necessarily spend more time practicing. If you want to shoot lower scores faster then you should try learning the game backwards so this means learning chipping, putting and wedge play first and then learn to master the driver and long irons. Most people starting to learn the game spend too much time with the driver and woods and not enough time chipping, putting and hitting wedge shots.

Short game tips:

When you go to a driving range, start by going to the practice green first and spending time hitting some putts, chipping and playing some bunker shots. Hit putts from all distances and spend a lot of time on short putts as they are critical to becoming the best putter you can be. Focus on making each and every putt even for the longest putts - see the ball going in the hole on the last rotation or two in your minds eye for very long putts, this will reduce your margin for error the most and even your misses will be a lot closer to the hole.

When chipping do not be afraid to hit from really bad lies as this will make the bad lies you face on the course seem easy by comparison. Learn to hit from bare lies and buried lies and practice from them often in order to keep your touch around the greens. Do not forget to also spend enough time in the bunkers as many rounds you will find yourself in them and you can save a ton of shots by being a good bunker player.
